Dr Julia Coelho qualified with Honours in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Surrey in 2009 and in Dentistry at Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry in 2013. In the same year she started working as a general dentist and began her training in non-surgical facial aesthetics and Post-graduate education in Primary Dental Care.

In 2014, Julia started working as a Senior House Officer in the Oral and Maxillofacial Department at the Royal Surrey County Hospital. Working alongside consultants in theatres she gained a solid grounding in advanced surgical dentistry, assisting with the facial reconstruction of cancer patients, trauma management and facial skin lesions. This invaluable, hands on education on head, neck and facial anatomy both inspired and aided her to go on to study, practice and teach facial aesthetics procedures.

Julia continues to upgrade her knowledge, skills and techniques attending multiple advanced postgraduate courses, national and international conferences and workshops in dentistry and facial aesthetics. She has concluded her Dental Implant training with the Centre for Advanced Dental Education (CADE) and Aesthetic Dentistry with Advanced Dental Seminars. In 2015, she was awarded Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and in 2016 she was awarded distinction by the University of Kent on her MSc thesis on the use of Botulinum toxin for medical conditions in the head and neck.

She has built a reputation for excellence in providing high quality patient care and her expertise in dental and facial aesthetics. Julia has been teaching courses in basic and advanced aesthetics for over 3 years, training dentists, doctors and surgeons in the field. The fundamental aspect of her teaching ethos is to train fellow practitioners to provide safe, ethical and appropriate aesthetic procedures and raise the standards in practice.
